In partnership with SF city programs, local cultural institutions and arts organizations, and drawing on an 11-year legacy in the queer arts scene, Oasis Arts aims to elevate diversity and bring dynamic art to the community by encouraging participation across generations, cultural backgrounds, and personal expressions.

Artist in residence Evian created over 30 unique installations at Oasis over the course of 2025.

“An artist is always paving their own path toward creating meaningful and beautiful art, it is a life practice of expressing and advocating for your voice to be heard, seen, and appreciated. Oasis Arts provided me the platform to become a full-time artist in San Francisco and became a place for me to learn, push my limits conceptually and in my physical work. The reality is making art and celebrating your community will come second when it comes to paying for rent and food in the fridge. Oasis Arts made it possible for me to focus on my career as an artist by providing me opportunities and an honest wage to survive living in San Francisco. I am eternally grateful for the growth and kindness shown to me at Oasis Arts.”

Community Events Program

Our Community Events Program delivers a dynamic mix of free and ticketed programming, including drag performances, nightlife events, cabaret, and artist-led workshops. In addition to cultural offerings, the program prioritizes community well-being through no-cost workshops focused on essential resources such as advance directive planning and financial literacy tailored for the LGBTQ+ community. Together, these initiatives foster creative expression, build community connection, and provide tools for long-term stability and empowerment.

  • PRINCESS — a weekly drag spectacular, a space for San Francisco’s drag community to come together and to celebrate our commitment to elevation of the art of drag in a disco-pop dance setting, founded and produced by Tito Soto.

  • Reparations — San Francisco’s only all-Black drag show, is produced and hosted by five time “Best Drag Queen of the Bay” award winner Nicki J.

    • Started on Juneteenth 2020 in response to the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and the subsequent Black Lives Matter uprisings across the country, Reparations urges audiences to “put your money where your black square is.”

  • Access Happy Hour — a drag show promoting nightlife inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities at OASIS produced by Linty and the AccessSFUSD team, a community-based program for students ages 18-22 years old. In 2025, Oasis Arts donated proceeds to the organization, hosted and sponsored their monthly happy hours and May 2025 fundraiser, and used our platform to promote their performers and spotlight the organization's work.

Legacy Artists Program

Our Legacy Artists Program supports LGBTQ+ pioneers by offering space, resources, and professional documentation for their work, ensuring their stories inspire future generations and preserving the Bay Area’s LGBTQ+ arts legacy.

As part of its Legacy Artists Program, Oasis Arts is committed to honoring and materially supporting the artists who helped shape the cultural foundation of our LGBTQ+ community. This year, we proudly celebrated Matthew Martin, a San Francisco native whose decades-long career in drag, theater, and performance has left a lasting impact on the Bay Area.

Matthew is renowned for bringing iconic Hollywood figures—such as Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Judy Garland, and Katharine Hepburn—to life with wit, glamour, and depth. His work includes roles like Margo Channing in All About Eve, Blanche Devereaux in The Golden Girls Live, and a range of cabaret performances honoring classic cinema.
